Electric Infrared Oven

The electric infrared oven offers a more environmentally friendly heating method that requires less fossil fuels. These ovens use infrared electric heaters to radiate heat to dry parts. They can be designed in a variety of shapes and for virtually any heat treatment process.

Infrared curing works well with powder coating applications and is also excellent for a liquid paint line, whether it is single component, 2 or 3 component, water/solvent based, or other type of coating.

Infrared energy can be used as a heat source to cure a variety of industrial coatings. This infrared curing process applies energy to the surface of the coated part through direct transmission from an emitter, which can deliver source temperatures between 500 and 4,200°F. Some of the energy is reflected from the surface, some is absorbed by the coating, and some heats the substrate. In powder coating, this direct energy transfer creates an immediate reaction in the polymer, and curing (called crosslinking) begins quickly when the surface is exposed to the emitter.
